Adjusting to sulphate free, paraben free shampoo bars

Welcome to using your shampoo bar. For many people this is a new concept. It is so much easier than fumbling with bottles, and there is no risk of over pouring/wasting shampoo.

There are 2 ways to use your shampoo bar.
1. This is the way I like to use mine. You literally rub it on your hair and scalp. Because there are no sulphates in the shampoo there will be less lather. If you have hard water you may also notice little lather. Then rinse and condition.

2. If you are only wanting a “light” shampoo then you can rub the shampoo bar in your hands and run your hands through your hair. There will probably be no lather this way. Then rinse and condition.

But the good news is that it doesn’t have to lather to work.

You may notice that the first few times you use the shampoo bar that your hair may feel “tacky” this can be for a few different reasons.
1. when you remove sulphates from your haircare routine it is gentler on your hair shaft. It doesn’t leave the cuticles open and this can leave a “tacky” feeling
2. When you switch to a sulphate free shampoo your scalp starts to become healthy again. This can lead to an overproduction of your natural oils. Don’t worry though it will regulate again. For some people it can be a few shampoos, and for others it can be more. It took about a month for me

I hope you enjoy your journey to healthier, happier hair.
